Touchpoints · Accessing content

Tap. Point. It opens. Inside the Linxy App.

Linxy Marks, Linxy IQ codes, NFC tags and short links (Dynamic Links) are four ways into the same content. Scan or tap, and what the owner shared opens inside the Linxy App, usually in under two seconds. No browser, no address bar, no detours.

Four ways in

Four doors. One destination.

Each door suits a different place. Behind every one is the same platform, the same content and the same controls.

Linxy Marks

No visible code at all. An identity is woven across the whole image, too faint for the eye and clear to the Linxy App.

  • Posters, packaging, prints and screens
  • Reads through creases, smudges and partial views
  • Resolved only by the Linxy platform

Linxy IQ

Any phone camera reads the visible code. The Linxy App also reads the invisible Mark underneath and confirms the code is a genuine Linxy IQ.

  • For places where every camera must work
  • The Mark proves it’s the real one
  • Made on the Linxy web platform

NFC tags

A Linxy tag carries a one-off code, not a web address. A tap opens the Linxy App directly, and a phone without it is offered the free app.

  • Doors, counters, tables and products
  • Each tag can be switched off on its own
  • A tag can have its own destination

Dynamic Links

Short links (Dynamic Links) open straight into the Linxy App on iPhone and Android when it’s installed: in texts, email, posts and on websites.

  • Same content as the Mark or tag
  • Change where it goes anytime
  • Any browser works too, unless the owner keeps it app-only
What happens when you scan

It carries an identity, not an address.

A printed code takes you wherever it was pointed the day it was printed. A Linxy touchpoint asks the platform what it should open right now, which is why the same picture can open something new tomorrow.

1

The camera watches

The app samples what the camera sees. Nothing leaves your phone yet.

2

Decoded on the phone

Your phone recovers the pattern itself and ends up with just an identity number.

3

The platform decides

Is it on? Is it protected? Where are you, what time is it, and which device and language? The owner’s rules answer.

4

It opens in the app

Video and audio in the app’s own player, pages in its own screen, or a short note explaining why not.

Everything opens inside the app.
Nothing is handed to the browser.

No address bar, no pop-ups and no detours to pages nobody chose.

Inside the Linxy App

Made to be watched, read and kept, right where you scanned.

  • Its own player. Video and audio play in the app, full screen in portrait or landscape, and audio can keep going with the screen locked.
  • Its own web screen. Pages open with no address bar to copy, edit or wander from.
  • Playlists. A Mark can hold several videos, songs, photos and pages, played in order or picked from a list.
  • App-only, if the owner wants. A browser then gets only an “Open in the Linxy App” page, with no titles, thumbnails or addresses.
  • Better for younger viewers. What a touchpoint opens stays in the app, not in a browser with the whole web behind it.

A simple habit for Linxy IQ: if it doesn’t open inside the Linxy App, the code may not be the one you think it is.

Private by default

Scan freely. Share only what you choose.

Open it and scan

The Linxy App opens straight into the scanner, for everyone. You don’t need an account or a sign-in to scan.

Your details stay yours

A scan doesn’t share your name, phone number or email. The owner sees that a scan happened, when, the rough region and the kind of device.

Connections only when you say yes

If a touchpoint offers a Connection, the app asks first. Saying no still lets you see the content.

Biometrics never leave the phone

When Face ID or a fingerprint is asked for, your phone checks it and answers only yes or no.

When it asks first

Some things open only for the right person, in the right place.

Owners decide. You’ll only ever see one or two of these, and each one tells you why it’s there. How owners set them →

A password

The owner gave it to the people meant to open it.

Your location, once

It opens only at the place: a venue, a store, a campus. The app checks once when you open it and nothing runs in the background.

A Connection request

The owner offers an ongoing, private channel. Nothing is created until you accept.

Face ID or a fingerprint

It was shared with you by name, and your phone confirms you’re the one holding it.

One object, several doors

The picture, the tag and the link all open the same thing.

A framed print can hold a Linxy Mark in the artwork, an NFC tag on the frame and a short link for the people who will never see it in person.

  • Managed in one place. Change the destination once and every door follows.
  • Counted in one place. Taps and scans add up on the same Mark, even when a tag has its own destination.
  • Nothing to reprint. The object stays exactly as it is.
Screens too

A Mark on a screen is a touchpoint.

Digital signage, a store display, a slide or a website sign-in page: point the Linxy App at the picture and it opens, just like a print.

  • Turn a tablet into a display. Scan a Mark with a playlist on the device, set it to play all and repeat, and it runs on its own in a lobby, window or booth.
  • Change the show from your phone. New items reach the display the next time the Mark is scanned on it.

Good scanning

Four habits that make every scan quick.

Fill the frame

The pattern covers the whole picture. Get closer rather than aiming at a spot.

Mind the glare

Tilt a glossy print or a shiny package so the light isn’t bouncing straight back.

Creases are fine

A fingerprint, a fold or a scan that catches two-thirds of the image usually still reads.

Tap with the top

For NFC, hold the top back of the phone flat to the tag until it buzzes.

Questions

Good to know

Do I need an account to scan?

No. The Linxy App opens straight into the scanner for everyone, signed in or not. An account is needed to create touchpoints, write Linxy NFC tags and join Connections.

Can my phone’s camera read a Linxy Mark?

No. A Linxy Mark is read by the Linxy App, and no other software resolves it. The visible code on a Linxy IQ works in any camera; the Mark underneath it is read by the Linxy App.

What does the owner learn when I scan?

That a scan happened and when, the rough region, the kind of device, and whether it was a first or repeat scan. Not your name, number, email, contacts or photos, unless you choose to share them through a Connection.

Why did a page I saved stop working?

Protected content opens through a short-lived view that belongs to the browser that opened it. That’s the protection working. Scan the Mark or open the short link again for a fresh view.

It says I’m not at the location. Why?

Some content opens only at a particular place. Either you’re outside the area or your phone’s position is off. Step outside for a moment or turn on precise location, then tap Try again.

A tag or Mark opens nothing. What now?

The owner may have switched it off or ended it on purpose, or it may not be set up yet, in which case you’ll see “Nothing here yet.” Owners can bring a switched-off touchpoint back at any time.
